Entomology Graduate Students Recognized at the Symposium of Zamoranos in USA

Our graduate students from the Department of Entomology at The Ohio State University recently attended the Symposium of Zamoranos in USA, held in Gainesville, Florida.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students at the symposium! Three of our graduate students received top honors in the Lightning Talk Competition:

  • 1st Place — Arnold Gomez

  • 2nd Place — Erick Martinez

  • 3rd Place — Cesia N. Cerrato

All three students did an excellent job presenting their research, and we are excited to highlight their work.

Arnold Gomez presented his research, titled “More Nutrients, More Problems?”

Erick Martinez presented “Beyond CBD: Larvicidal Activity of Hemp-Derived Cannabinoids Against Aedes aegypti.”

Cesia N. Cerrato presented “Elm Zigzag Sawfly: Can Native Natural Enemies Suppress Populations of Elm Zigzag Sawfly on American Elm?”’

Congratulations again to Arnold, Erick, and Cesia on this well-deserved recognition! We are proud of our graduate students and their accomplishments, and we look forward to seeing their continued success in research and beyond.
