Congratulations to Yeaeun Park on Receiving the Poster Presentation Award from the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology

We are proud to congratulate Yeaeun Park, who received the 2026 Best Student Poster Award from the Division of Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry at the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology!

At this year’s conference, Yeaeun presented her poster titled: “Molecular cloning of putative Na⁺-K⁺-2Cl⁻ cotransporter cDNAs in the copepod Eurytemora carolleeae.”

Yeaeun is currently a second-year PhD student in Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University, where she is advised by Dr. Peter Piermarini. Her research focuses on the electrophysiology of ion transporters, primarily using voltage clamp techniques. She is particularly interested in how ion transporters in coastal copepods (Eurytemora carolleeae) adapt to freshwater environments.

Prior to beginning her PhD, Yeaeun earned her MS in the Piermarini Lab in the Department of Entomology/Environmental Sciences. Her master’s research explored how thermal activation of the TRPA1 irritant receptor affects repellent responses in mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti).

We are incredibly proud of Yeaeun’s achievement and continue to support and celebrate our students as they excel across a wide range of disciplines!!
